Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council took the first step in allowing Bolton to become an official "Fairtrade Town" by resolving on the 28th February 2002 that the council will formally support Fairtrade. Well Done Bolton MBC!
Bolton as a Fairtrade Town was given an official launch by the the Mayor, Cllr John Walsh on 1st March 2003. The Council made a further resolution on 4th march 2009.
